You first choose a temperature range that contains the temperatures that you want to use in your calculation.

Next, choose a material from the list of Common Mold Materials. Then press Enter in the Coefficient of Thermal Expansion frame. Press Enter. The expansion rate in inches per inch of length, per degree Fahrenheit change in temperature is displayed. There is no need to copy or write this number down, it will be used by the program in the following sections. The answer is displayed in a text box, this is done so that the user may accept the quantity displayed, or enter a known coefficient of thermal expansion, if different from the one displayed.

Select the Expansion option button if you want to know the change in size of your item due to a change in temperature. Enter the initial size in inches, and the temperature difference in degrees Fahrenheit.

Select the Final Size option button if you want to know the final size of your item due to a change in temperature. Enter the initial size in inches, and the temperature difference in degrees Fahrenheit.

Select the Initial Size option button if you want to know what size to make your item so that it will become the correct size due to a change in temperature. Enter the final size in inches, and the temperature difference in degrees Fahrenheit.

The questions asked by the software change in response to the property desired.

Press Calculate. The appropriate answer for the given temperature change and material appears in the Answer frame.

Use the Clear button to clear all fields, however this is not necessary in order to do another calculation. You may simply type over the previous entries.

You may send the page to your default printer by pressing Print, you may return to the main menu selection area by pressing Main Menu, or select Exit DzynSource to close the program.
